Razi Metallurgical Research Center’s mechanical laboratory is one of the most well equipped and most advanced mechanical laboratories in Iran
and the Middle East. Utilizing the most modern instruments along with experienced and trained personnel,
RMRC is capable of performing a variety of investigative mechanical experiments.
Mechanical laboratory carries out general research tests including tensile test, impact test, bending test
and specialized tests according to various standards defined for raw materials or products. The mechanical
laboratory is able to offer laboratory services to a range of industries including metal industry, oil and gas,
automobile parts manufacturing industry, civil industry, aerospace and aviation industry and contractors or suppliers
of goods associated with these industries. Bureau of standards and standards institution across the country, scientific
centers and academia are our major customers.
The mechanical laboratory may carry out special mechanical tests according to instructions provided by customers.
It is possible for customers to contact laboratory experts to check if the capability of performing research tests
outside the scope of the list below exist or not. We employ proper facilities for machining and sample preparation and
all stages of standard sample preparation and performing the tests are conducted under the supervision of excellent experts
and experienced staff and we welcome any suggestions to provide better laboratory services.
Main services offered in the mechanical laboratory:
- Tensile test at room temperature according to regional, national or international standards such as ISO 6892-1 or based
on national standards of industrial countries such as ASTM A370, ASTM E8, JIS Z2201, etc.
- High temperature tensile test according to ASTM E21.
- Deep drawing test.
- Charpy impact test according to ASTM E23.
- Mechanical pressure investigative test.
- Bend test according to ASME SEC IX, ASTM E290, and ASTM E190.
- Specialized tests on screws and bolts including tensile test with specimen preparation, full size tensile test, proof load testing, wedge testing, etc.
- Specialized research test on seamless or welded pipes including flattening test, flare test, etc. According to relevant standards such as API 5L, ASTM A53, DIN 1626, DIN 1629, ISO 11960, etc.
- Specialized research tests for welding procedure verification and related tests including transverse tensile test, transverse bend test, longitudinal bend test, fillet weld break test, nick break test, Charpy impact test from different welding areas based on API 1104, AWS, ASME and ISO 15614 standards.
- Electrodes and welding wire tests according to AWS and ASME section II.
- Rotating bending fatigue test and calculation of fatigue endurance limit.
- Performance tests and application of tensile or compressive force on completed parts.
- Manhole tops testing according to EN124 and INSO 14976 standard.
- Tensile testing of towing wire and steel wire ropes according to national and international standards.
- Torque testing and head soundness testing.
