Spectrometer's standard calibration samples, are the samples which are utilized in starting up and calibrating the spectrometer. These samples must have complete homogeneity and the lowest possible segregation of alloying elements.
These samples are prepared by casting method. Since casting alloys always have the possibility of segregation and non-homogeneity, they should be manufactured with a certain technology to achieve the desired properties.
Razi Metallurgical Research Center was the first and only manufacturer of reference materials in Iran since 1382 and was able to patent the steels and non-ferrous samples in 1395 and 1396. Right now, there are a wide variety of industrial alloys produced such as carbon steels, stainless steels, Magnesium alloyed steels, gray, ductile and Ni-hard cast irons, brasses and bronzes, aluminum alloys, Zn-based alloys and super alloys.
The manufactured samples are analyzed using state of the art methods and after chemical and structural investigation and assurance of homogeneity and chemical composition accuracy, the related certificate will be issued.
These samples are manufactured using average frequency induction furnace with 5kg and 25 kg capacity and also a vacuum induction melting and casting furnace with 5kg capacity and an electromagnetic stirrer in special molds built using special technologies to assure homogeneity of the specimens.
