Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) and Industrial Inspection Services
During the manufacturing and service life of materials or components, various discontinuities of different sizes may occur. The future performance of a component depends on their nature and exact dimensions. Therefore, highly accurate and reliable methods must be used to detect defects during manufacturing and monitor their growth throughout the component's service life.
Razi Metallurgy Research Center, equipped with modern equipment, engineering and management expertise, and extensive experience and technical knowledge in various inspection and supervision fields, is ready to provide the services required by the country's industries. The Center has provided effective non-destructive testing and inspection services to various industries, including aerospace, automotive, construction, oil, gas, and petrochemicals.
To enhance transparency in service delivery and comply with quality management system requirements, Razi Metallurgy Research Center allows customers or their designated representatives to attend testing procedures when technically and safely feasible.
By making prior arrangements, customers can observe the testing process firsthand and verify the test method, equipment usage, and compliance with relevant requirements.
This service is provided while maintaining impartiality, confidentiality, and technical independence. Customer attendance does not affect the testing process or the validity of the results.
Applications of Non-Destructive Testing
- Identifying and detecting defects in components during manufacturing and stopping further production of defective parts to avoid unnecessary costs and time.
- Identifying discontinuities and defects in finished components and improving product reliability and safety during service.
- Conducting in-service inspections to detect potential defects in components and prevent serious accidents.
Key Services Offered by the Non-Destructive Testing Laboratory
- Non-destructive inspection of metallic and non-metallic raw materials.
- Inspection of all welded, brazed, and soldered joints.
- Detection of lamination defects in various ferrous and non-ferrous plates of different thicknesses.
- Examination of surface defects, including cracks, cavities, and other imperfections, in bolts, nuts, welded joints, castings, forgings, and other components.
- Examination of internal defects in steel, cast iron, aluminum, and magnesium castings, as well as aluminum and magnesium die-cast components, using radiographic interpretation reference images.
- Evaluation of properties, including moisture content and absorbed hydrogen, and the performance of coated electrodes, wires, welding wires, and welding powders.
- Ferrite measurement using a Ferritescope for austenitic stainless steels.
- Ultrasonic thickness measurement of metallic materials (steel and cast iron) at specific points and assessment of thickness reduction caused by corrosion.
- Immersion ultrasonic testing with A-Scan, B-Scan, and C-Scan display capabilities, %CAR calculation, TCG sensitivity curve generation, high dimensional accuracy, and excellent resolution.
