This service is provided in accordance with the principles of impartiality, confidentiality, and technical independence. Customer attendance does not affect the testing process or the validity of the results in any way.

Chemical Element Analysis Using ICP-OES

The ICP-OES instrument, or Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectroscopy, is one of the most advanced instruments used for chemical element analysis and determining the chemical composition of materials. In chemistry and metallurgy laboratories, this method is used alongside spectrophotometers and atomic absorption spectroscopy (AAS) instruments for accurate element measurement.

The ICP-OES instrument operates on the principle of emission spectroscopy. In this method, the sample is atomized and ionized by plasma generated from the inert gas argon (Ar). Excited atoms and ions emit specific wavelengths of light as they return to a stable state, allowing the type and concentration of elements present in the sample to be determined.

The ICP-OES instrument can simultaneously measure numerous elements in the periodic table in various samples, including water, soil, metals, alloys, minerals, and polymeric materials. By using radial view and axial view systems, the instrument enables highly accurate and sensitive measurement of elements at ppm and ppb concentration levels.

The main advantages of ICP analysis include high speed, low detection limits, good repeatability, high measurement accuracy, and the ability to analyze multiple elements simultaneously. Therefore, this method is one of the most widely used techniques in metal analysis, raw material quality control, mining industries, water and wastewater industries, and laboratory research.

The instrument is equipped with a solid-state RF Generator that produces stable, powerful, and reliable plasma. This feature improves the stability of test results and reduces the need for instrument repair and maintenance over time. It should be noted that the sample is completely destroyed during the ICP analysis process.

Element Analysis Using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS)

Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS) is one of the most accurate and widely used methods of chemical element analysis, employed to determine the concentration of metallic elements in various samples. This method is widely used in chemistry, metallurgy, environmental science, food industry, and quality control laboratories to measure small quantities of elements with high accuracy.

Atomic absorption spectroscopy operates on the principle of light energy absorption by free atoms in the gaseous state. Each element absorbs light at a specific wavelength, and the amount of light absorbed is directly related to the concentration of that element in the sample. This relationship is defined by the Beer-Lambert Law and enables quantitative element measurement.

During atomic absorption analysis, the sample is first converted into free atoms. A beam of light at the specific wavelength of the target element is then passed through the sample, and the amount of absorbed light is measured. By using a calibration curve and comparing the results with reference standards, the concentration of the target element is determined with high accuracy.

Due to its suitable sensitivity, high accuracy, and ability to measure elements at low concentrations, AAS is one of the common methods for metal analysis, heavy metal measurement, raw material quality control, and the evaluation of the chemical composition of metallic, mineral, environmental, and water samples.

The main advantages of this method include high accuracy, good repeatability, lower operating costs compared with some advanced methods, and the ability to measure various elements in a wide range of samples.

Carbon and Sulfur Analysis in Metallic and Mineral Materials

Accurate measurement of carbon (C) and sulfur (S) is one of the most important quality control tests in the steel, casting, metallurgy, mineral, and ceramic industries. This test is performed with high accuracy to determine carbon and sulfur content in various steels, metal alloys, ceramic materials, soil, ash, oxides, and carbides.

In the carbon and sulfur analysis method, the sample is melted or combusted at high temperatures under controlled conditions inside the instrument's furnace. The gases produced during sample combustion are measured using sensitive detectors, allowing the carbon and sulfur contents to be determined accurately.

Carbon and sulfur analyzers are generally equipped with induction and resistance furnaces and can measure these elements across a wide range, from very low concentrations to high percentages. Due to its accuracy, speed, and good repeatability, this method is considered one of the most reliable techniques for determining carbon and sulfur percentages in metallic and mineral materials.

The results of this test are widely used to determine raw material quality, control production processes, evaluate the chemical composition of alloys, and assess product compliance with industrial standards.
