Reference Materials (RM) for Optical Emission Spectrometer

Application of Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) to determine the chemical composition of metals is a growing trend in Iran. Determining the exact amount of the constituent elements of Metals and Alloys in many scientific studies are needed. Errors in measuring the sample's constituent elements can cause errors in data. Due to an error in Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) devices, these devices require constant calibration. To calibrate Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES), different standard samples are required to verify the measuring elements. One of the features of standard samples, is homogeneity of the elements in whole sample. In this center, evaluation of homogeneity is in accordance with ASTM E826-1996. Each of the produced standard samples is certified. Each certificate contains the elements in the sample, it is accompanied by uncertainty. Razi Metallurgical Research Center is the first and only manufacturer of these samples inside the country. RMRC is able to produce a variety of high quality iron based (steel and cast-iron) samples, aluminum based samples, copper based (brass and bronze), Zinc based and Nickel based samples.
